The saying goes that “Hindsight is 20/20,” now if only a time machine came with that little chestnut. Sometimes it sounds so appealing to be able to take a quick ride in one of those things and change certain events in my life, make different decisions, warn myself about something or someone in order to avoid the pain of loss or regret, or even just to tell my past self that this too will indeed pass and everything will be okay. There have been plenty of times in my life when knowing that in a few days or a few years, it would all work out and what felt like an impossible situation or a crippling heartbreak would eventually work itself out or begin to heal.
If I were given the opportunity to write a letter to my past self with 5 pieces of advice or encouragement or warnings, what would I say? What would you say if given the opportunity?
Join us in our new blog series, Letters To My Past Self. Every week we will share one of these “letters” written by both our team members and our readers. We want to know what 5 things you would say! Would you tell yourself to stay far away from a particular relationship? Would you advise yourself to go for that audition even in the midst of the odds being stacked against you? Would you tell yourself that healing would come in the midst of a particular heartache? That 5 years down the line you would be stronger for it, maybe even discover that you have been given an amazing opportunity to minister to someone else’s life because of it?
Share your Letter To Your Past Self with us and tell us the 5 things you wish you would have known.
Share your letter.
