Raise your hand if bathroom cleaning is the one house chore that makes you seriously consider hiring a maid service! Yeah, that’s my hand scraping the ceiling. THURSDAY: Day 4- Master Your Kitchen
It’s the heart of the home, the place your family most likely spends the most of your time together. It is also one of the most likely places for all of those germs, mildew and even critters to congregate. Hey, they just want to be part of the action! EWWW. Check out this post for some tips on how to ensure the heart of your home stays a happy, welcoming, clean and ICK-FREE zone. Plus…. more chemical free solutions!
FRIDAY: Day 5- Master Your Closets
I have a serious love/hate relationship with my closets. Closets are great! I mean, it is a large, open space, often containing shelving and hangers and there is a door that keeps everything inside separate from the living space. The bad thing about a closet though can be that it is a large, open space, often containing shelving and hangers and there is a door that keeps everything inside separate from the living space…. unless you live and breath home organization and you are totally on top of the concept of everything having a place… you feel me, right? I mean, where else am I supposed to toss all of the extra stuff that usually hangs out on the floor or draped over chairs? It is a hard rule when visiting my house that you don’t open any doors that are closed- they are closed for a reason! In this post, I share some tricks of the organization trade (a trade I am not a member of, but I know people…) Let’s get our closets back, together! Three cheers for leaving doors open and not dying of embarrassment as a result!!
SATURDAY: Day 6- Master Your Garage
You know, that extra space that connects to the side of your house where some people park their cars? Haha… hey, my car “fits” in my garage, it just isn’t the only thing living there at the moment. Have you ever walked into someone’s garage and it was like a heavenly choir started singing and a ray of sunshine bathed the space in sparkling light? There are cabinets and shelves and everything is stacked by size and organized by color and there is more than likely a serious addiction to a label maker going on? Yep. Well, I can’t make that happen for you, because, well- I’m not a magician! But I can share a bit of organizational genius that I have acquired from a few people I know who rock at that kind of stuff. So, get out the gloves, the knee pads and possibly some protective head gear and lets get that garage in “It’s Saturday and my garage door stays open all day so everyone can see my awesomeness” condition!
SUNDAY: Day 7- Master Your Seasonal Decor
Now that your house is sparkling like the jewel it is, let’s get to the fun stuff! Hey, you just spent all week cleaning like a fiend, it is time to reward yourself just a little. Let’s talk fun, new and trendy seasonal decor, most of which you can do yourself with a little craftiness and a trip to the local art supply store. See, all that cleaning was totally worth it. Now it is time to plan a neighborhood BBQ- at YOUR PLACE!
