Nothing beats the fall collection. This year’s Fall Fashion trends include oversized camel coats, blanket scarves, flat booties, chocolate browns, and all things velvet. Everyone who cares even a little bit about fashion has already noticed these trends on the street without even having to consult celebrity snapchats, but what we want to do here is help you rock these styles like a real fashion connoisseur.
#1: Oversized Camel Coat
A staple in every fashionista’s closet, an oversized camel coat is one of those retro trends that we welcomed with open arms. You can pair it with flat booties to dress it down or cute chunky heels for evening. If it’s not too chilly outside, rock it with sneakers to get the athleisure look all the cool kids are talking about, and don’t forget to accessorize at least with a scarf and a wool hat for maximum effect.
#2: Blanket Scarf
Speaking of scarves, there is no better way to complete a killer fall look this year than to wear a blanket scarf that will not only put you right at the top of every street style list, but will also keep you warm on those cold and windy fall/winter days. Go for a neutral color because the shape will already stand out and you want to avoid any overkill with a statement piece such as this. Check out some of our favorite literary scarves too!
#3: Flat Booties
These are so comfortable and trendy that no fall outfit can be complete without them. Go for black to match perfectly with your camel coat or anything else you decide to put on next Monday afternoon when you head to your yoga class or this weekend when it’s time for a low-key girl’s night out. Your feet will thank you, and so will your short friends!
#4: Chocolate Browns
The hue of the season is chocolate brown. This goes for everything from basics, sweaters and blazers, to leather pants and outerwear. Wrap yourself up in an oversized chocolate brown angel sweater or tunic to get the most romantic look of the season and stay warm in the process. Chocolate browns will take you straight through the winter, and even though you’ll ditch them come March or April, they’re here to stay for several years, so you have nothing to fear if you want to splurge – it’ll be trendy next fall too.
Velvet is not the easiest thing to pull off, and if you’re not sure whether those velvet mittens, hat or purse are too much, just think of the Luxembourg Gardens and all things Parisienne, which will help you see velvet in a positive light. On the other hand, getting a pair of purple velvet pants might be a tad too much if you’re not feeling particularly brave this season, but that doesn’t mean a few velvet accents here and there wouldn’t be right on point.
