Such a beautiful story of hope for one young girl and her family in a situation of otherwise hopeless circumstance.
“My mom was in depression. When we would go hug her she would say, ‘go away, I don’t love you’. One month later my brother passed away and the police took my mom to the prison. She told me, ‘Mommy did something bad and she has to pay the consequence.’ She had a sentence of forty years.”
This is Veronica’s story. The first Christmas she was to be separated from her brother and sister, Hilario Morales took them all three in to become a part of his orphanage. The three siblings spent Christmas together and they each received a shoe box from Operation Christmas Child. The love that was shown to Veronica and her brother and sister that Christmas was the beginning of a new story Veronica began to embrace as her own. It was a story of love and family and hope.
