Hello fellow Sunshine lovers!
We are in the full swing of Summer now and I have to say, every year I look forward to these amazing Summer months with the sun shinning, the cool Colorado breeze coming off of the Rocky Mountains and spending lots of time with my husband and kiddos playing outside.
My family recently moved from Denver to Colorado Springs in a flurry as our house sold crazy fast, leaving us without a new home to move into. We have taken up temporary residence in an apartment (which is just as much fun as it sounds like with three kids- one teenager, one pre-teen and one soon to be pre-teen) while we continue our house hunt. Now, apartment living was certainly not part of our plan, but I do have to say it has been kind of nice not having to deal with the maintenance of homeownership and this place has an amazing clubhouse and POOL! So, we have been putting our free no- school afternoons to good use by taking full advantage of the all day access to free swimming- within walking distance. We basically live at the clubhouse and pool- seriously, the staff all know us by name.
This morning, as I was gathering all of the freshly washed bathing suits from the dryer and getting them packed into our swim bag in preparation for our afternoon at the pool, I got an email notification from my kid’s school. It was a friendly reminder of the uniform dress code and a shopping list for school supplies. What? Do we seriously only have 5 more weeks until school starts again? Instead of spinning into the very tempting pit of sadness at how quickly the Summer has flown by, I instead set to work planning out our next 5 weeks of Summer schedule. Now that all of our Summer camps have concluded, we are freed up to do a lot more adventuring as a family. I got the family together and we sat down to put together our Summer Bucket List, including everything each of us wants to try to put on the calendar for these next five weeks. We came up with a pretty hefty list between the five of us. Realistically, may not be able to do all of it, but we are sure going to try!
Inspired by our Bucket List, I took 20 of our best and most exciting ideas and created a Summer Bucket List mini book to share with you all! So, if you too are beginning to realize that the Summer is ticking by and you are looking for some great ways to get the most out of it, click the link at the bottom of this post and check out 20 of my favorite Bucket List ideas!
Have a great rest of your Summer! I’ll probably be at the pool if anyone needs me…
